Your Family Session

Welcome
I’m genuinely so honoured you’re here.
If you’re reading this, it means you’ve chosen to slow down for a moment and preserve something that is already unfolding in your life - your family, just as they are right now. Not a polished version, not a staged version, but the real rhythm of your days together.
These sessions are not about getting children to behave or families to perform. They are about noticing what is already there. The way your child leans into you without thinking. The way your hands find each other in passing. The small chaos, the laughter that comes unexpectedly, the quiet moments in between everything else.
So often, we don’t realise how much beauty exists in the ordinary until it has already changed. That is what I’m here to hold for you.
My approach is gentle, intuitive, and led entirely by connection. I won’t be asking anyone to stay still, smile on command, or follow a rigid set of instructions. Instead, I’ll guide you into simple moments together - walking, holding, playing, pausing - allowing space for real interaction to unfold naturally.
At the beginning of our time together, there is always a soft easing in. No pressure to “start well” or feel ready immediately. Children especially are never expected to warm up instantly. I will meet them where they are - shy, loud, uncertain, playful, clingy, wild - all of it is welcome, and all of it belongs.
There is also no expectation for you to hold everything together. You don’t need to manage expressions, correct behaviour, or worry about how things look. In fact, the more present you are with your family, the more meaningful your images will feel. I will gently guide everything so you can stay in the experience rather than step outside of it.
What I’m ultimately looking for is not perfection, but truth - the small gestures that speak louder than anything posed ever could. The way your family exists together when no one is trying too hard.
You don’t need to prepare for anything other than simply showing up as yourselves. I’ll take care of everything from there, gently shaping the time so it feels unhurried, natural, and safe enough for real moments to unfold.

A LITTLE ABOUT ME
Family photography, for me, has never been about perfect images - it has always been about presence.
I’m drawn to the quiet, in-between moments that often go unnoticed. The way your child reaches for you without thinking. The way you instinctively smooth their hair, or pull them a little closer when they’re unsure. The small, ordinary gestures that carry so much meaning when you see them back in photographs.
When I photograph families, I’m not directing a performance - I’m gently observing and guiding what already exists. I want your images to feel like memory. Honest, emotional, and familiar in a way that takes you right back into the feeling of that season of life.
I understand that family sessions can sometimes feel like a lot to step into, especially when children are involved. That’s why my approach is always slow, patient, and led by connection rather than expectation. There is no pressure for perfection here. Children are never expected to behave a certain way, and you are never expected to hold everything together. You’re simply invited to be with each other.
Over time, I’ve learned that the most meaningful photographs are rarely the ones that are planned. They are the ones that unfold naturally when people feel safe enough to be themselves - when they forget they are being photographed, even just for a moment.
That’s what I try to create in every session: a calm space where your family can just be, and where the beauty of that can be gently seen and preserved.
MY CLIENT WARDROBE
One of the biggest stressors for clients leading up to their session is deciding what to wear - which is exactly why I’ve created a client wardrobe available exclusively for my family clients.
My client closet has been carefully curated with pieces specifically chosen to photograph beautifully during motherhood. The wardrobe includes a selection of soft, feminine, flowy dresses in neutral and earthy tones that complement both my editing style and natural outdoor locations perfectly.
These dresses are designed to flatter you beautifully while also allowing movement and comfort during your session. Many of the pieces feature soft textures, flowing fabrics, long silhouettes, and flattering shapes that create beautiful movement in photographs, especially during golden hour.
The overall wardrobe style is timeless, natural, and effortless - ensuring your images feel elegant and emotive rather than overly trendy or dated years from now.
Access to the client wardrobe is included complimentary with your session, and once your booking is confirmed, I’ll send through available options for you to browse and choose from prior to your session date.
I’m also more than happy to help style your entire family so everything flows cohesively together. Coordinating outfits can make such a huge difference to the final gallery, and I’m always available to help with colour palettes, textures, and outfit suggestions for partners and children.
For the most cohesive look, I generally recommend:
Neutral tones
Earthy colours
Creams, whites, beiges, soft browns, muted greens, rusts, and soft blues
Linen, cotton, knits, and soft textures
Barefoot where possible for beach sessions
Minimal patterns and logos
I always encourage clients to prioritise comfort and confidence above all else. When you feel good, relaxed, and comfortable in what you’re wearing, it shows beautifully in your photographs.

What To Expect During Your Session
Your session is designed to feel slow, gentle, and unforced.
There is no pressure to perform, pose perfectly, or know what to do. In fact, the less you “try,” the more natural everything becomes. I’ll guide you throughout the entire session with soft direction - small prompts, gentle movement, and simple interactions that help you connect with each other rather than the camera.
At the beginning, we always take a little time to settle in. This is especially important for children. They are never expected to immediately warm up or cooperate. We move at their pace - sometimes that looks like curiosity, sometimes hesitation, sometimes full energy straight away. All of it is completely welcome.
From there, I’ll gently lead you through a mix of movement and connection - walking together, holding your children, playing, laughing, and pausing when something beautiful naturally unfolds. Nothing is rigid or overly structured. The session flows with you.
My goal is always to create space where you forget about the camera and simply be with each other.
When To Book Your Session
The best time to book is as early as you can, especially for weekends and golden hour time slots, as they are the first to fill.
Family sessions are often best planned in advance so we can secure a date that aligns with your family’s rhythm and the best natural light. If you’re thinking about a specific season - newborn stages, birthdays, or milestone moments - I recommend reaching out early so we can plan calmly without rush.
That said, I always keep a small amount of flexibility for spontaneous or last-minute sessions where possible.
Choosing Your Location
Location plays a huge role in the overall feel of your gallery, and I’m always happy to help guide you in choosing the perfect setting.
I typically photograph family sessions at:
Beaches
Sand dunes
Open grassy fields
Bushland
Coastal headlands
Long grass locations
Quiet outdoor natural spaces
Most sessions take place during golden hour - the hour before sunset - when the light is soft, warm, and flattering. Sessions are also held at sunrise, the light is soft and dreamy, This dreamy lighting is a huge part of the emotive and earthy feel throughout my work.
I carefully choose locations based on lighting, season, weather, accessibility, and the overall aesthetic you’re drawn to.

PREPARING FOR YOUR SESSION
The best preparation is simply creating a calm lead-up to your session.
Try not to rush the hour before we meet if you can help it. Give yourselves time to arrive slowly, rather than stepping straight out of busy energy. Children especially feel this shift, and it helps them settle more easily into the experience.
There is nothing you need to prepare in a formal sense - no need for perfect behaviour, rehearsed smiles, or structured expectations. The beauty of these sessions is that they are built around real life, not a version of it.
I will take care of guiding everything on the day so you can stay present with your family.

WEATHER & RESCHEDULING
Outdoor sessions are always weather-dependent. If heavy rain, storms, dangerous wind, or unsuitable conditions are forecast, I’ll be in touch to reschedule your session to the next suitable date.
Cloudy and overcast skies are absolutely okay and can actually create beautiful soft lighting. Your session will only be moved if conditions genuinely impact the quality or safety of your experience.

TIPS FOR KIDS
The most important thing to remember is that your children don’t need to “do” anything.
I am fully prepared for movement, unpredictability, shyness, big energy, and everything in between. There is no expectation for them to sit still, look at the camera, or behave in a certain way.
A few gentle things that can help:
Try not to over-schedule or rush beforehand if possible
Bring a small, simple snack or drink if needed
Let them warm up slowly - I always start gently
Comfort items like toys, dummies, or blankets are absolutely welcome
Follow their lead more than trying to direct them
Sometimes the most beautiful images come after the “warm-up chaos,” when everyone relaxes and forgets the camera is even there.
And if the day feels unpredictable - that’s completely normal. It’s often where the most honest, emotional moments live.

EDITING & GALLERY DELIVERY
After your session, I carefully hand-edit each image in my signature warm, earthy, emotive style. My editing process focuses on creating timeless imagery with beautiful tones, genuine emotion, and cohesive storytelling throughout your gallery.
Your final gallery will be delivered through a beautiful online viewing gallery where you’ll be able to download, share, print, and select favourites easily.
Please allow approximately 2–3 weeks for gallery delivery unless otherwise advised during busy seasons.
Raw, unedited images are not provided, as editing is a huge part of my artistic style and final client experience.
